George Hairston (1750-1827) was a captain in the American Revolution, an acting brigadier general during the War of 1812, and a wealthy white plantation owner and enslaver in Henry County, Va. Colonel George Hairston (1750-1827): married Elizabeth Perkins Letcher (1759-1818) and with her had Robert Hairston (1783-1852), George Hairston (1784-1863), Harden Hairston (1786-1862), Samuel Hairston (1788-1875), John Adams Hairston (1799-1849), America Hairston (1801-1826), Marshall Hairston (1802-1882), and Ruth Stovall Hairston (1804-1838). Colonel George Hairston (1750-1825) built Beaver Creek Plantation in 1776 just outside Martinsville in Henry County, Va.
